New Delhi: The mother of Manish Malhotra, the famous Indian fashion designer, died on the afternoon of March 19. According to reports, Manish shared a very close bond with his mother and they stayed together.
She was reportedly not keeping well for sometime. Several celebrities like Arjun Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, and Sonali Bendre were seen rushing to Manish Malhotra’s residence.
Some months ago, Manish spoke about his mother in an interview to Bollywood Hungama. He reportedly said that he used to love cinema and clothes from his childhood and “used to dance to every song.” He added, “I used to cut my mother’s saree. My mother, who came from undivided India, was always conscious of English, so she gave me a tuition teacher in the first standard.” He hailed her for encouraging his love for cinema.
Recently, Manish Malhotra headlined the Dubai Fashion Week 2026 along with Krésha Bajaj. In his Dubai Fashion Week showcase titled, ‘Inaya: The India Story’ celebrated Indian artisanship that people in the Middle East viewed with awe and wonder.
