Liam Rosenior has confirmed that Chelsea have "dealt with" a mole after the head coach's line-ups were leaked to the press in both legs of their Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. The Blues were beaten 8-2 on aggregate by the reigning European champions over two legs and in both games, Rosenior's team was made public in the French media.
Chelsea, though, have found the mole that sources described to football.london as 'external' and the leaked information did not come directly from someone in the Blues squad. Rosenior explained, without revealing who the culprit was, that the situation has now been handled.
"We know [who it is]," said Rosenior when asked about identifying the mole.
"And it's not come from any place of malicious intent to me or to the team. We know where it's come from and we've dealt with the situation."
Chelsea travel to the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday evening as the Blues look to put a terrible week - consisting of three straight defeats - behind them.
However, Rosenior will have to do that without the likes of Trevoh Chalobah, Reece James and Filip Jorgensen.
James suffered a hamstring injury in the defeat to Newcastle United last weekend, whilst Jorgensen had surgery this week on a groin issue.
Chalobah is likely to be out for around six weeks after being stretchered off late on in Chelsea's second leg defeat to PSG on Tuesday night.
"It wasn't until after the game that I saw the image [of Chalobah's foot turned the opposite way], I think everyone's seen it and you're really, really worried for the next day," said Rosenior.
"Obviously it's never good that Trevoh is out for any period of time, but fortunately, it's nowhere near as serious as we first feared.
"It's still a serious injury, but we're looking at a period of maybe six weeks, which is disappointing.
"But from where we were a couple of days ago, straight after the game, we are in a better place than what we were before."
