A train going from Bhubaneswar to Nabarangapur caught fire near Ramabhadrapuram in Andhra Pradesh after a rear tire burst. At that time most of the people in the car were sleeping. Khila, representative of Chitrakonda assembly constituency of Malkangiri, told the media about this frightening experience.
He said that the fire broke out when the passengers were fast asleep. He credited this to the presence of mind of the driver, who immediately stopped the bus, opened the windows and then ran to wake up everyone on board. Due to the speed of the driver and the alertness of the passengers, all the people on board the bus were taken out safely before the fire could engulf the entire bus.
After this incident, another bus was arranged to take the stranded passengers to Malkangiri. Along with this, the police will investigate to find out the real cause of the fire and check whether the safety rules were followed. At present this is being investigated.
