Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie urged to stay silent or face consequences

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have been urged not to release a statement regarding their parents' scandals. The two sisters, who have kept a low profile over recent months, have been dragged into scandals surrounding their parents Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson.

This is because the sisters were mentioned in the Epstein files as a result of their parents being friends with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, with this friendship continuing even after Epstein was first released from prison for child sex offences. Appearing in the Epstein files does not indicate wrongdoing.

While both Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 35, haven't been exiled from royal life like their parents have, they have reportedly been banned from attending certain events for now, including Royal Ascot.

This is unlikely to be a big deal for the sisters, who are already keeping a low profile. Although Beatrice and Eugenie no doubt have strong feelings about the scandals surrounding their parents, they have not publicly addressed this.

This is a good move according to one expert, who said that the sisters should not release a statement for one reason. This is the fact that it keeps the story alive.

Brand and culture expert Nick Ede exclusively told Express.co.uk: "Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are in a uniquely difficult position because of the controversy surrounding their parents which isn't something they can control, but it inevitably shapes public perception of them.

"In situations like this, the most effective strategy for them is to be quiet and carry on their business as usual."

He continued: "Releasing a statement would likely do more harm than good. Statements can unintentionally keep a story alive and force them into taking a public stance on family issues that are deeply personal.

"If they remain steady, dignified and quietly productive, the conversation about them will gradually move away from their parents and back onto their own lives."

It is not known how much the princesses have been in contact with their divorced parents since these latest scandals, including Andrew's arrest. The former prince was arrested last month on suspicion of misconduct in public office and was released under investigation.

Andrew has always denied wrongdoing and any accusations against him.
