There is such a ruthless government in West Bengal, which has put brakes on development - PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted the TMC government of West Bengal in the program 'What India Thinks Today Summit (WITT) 2026' of TV9 network. Accusing the Central Government of not implementing the schemes in West Bengal, PM Modi said that West Bengal was once the hub of culture, education, industry and trade. In the last 11 years, the Central Government has invested a huge amount for the development of West Bengal, but unfortunately there is a ruthless government which is sitting on the brakes on development.

He said that Ayushman Bharat Yojana, PM Surya Ghar Bijli Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, schemes started for tea garden workers have been put on hold. That means the ruthless government is giving more priority to its political interests than development and public welfare.

Let us tell you that there are assembly elections in April and BJP is contesting with its full strength in the assembly elections and is continuously attacking the TMC government.

The main focus of Congress is to oppose development… PM Modi

He said that the main focus of Congress Party's politics has been to oppose development. This has been his style since my time in Gujarat. For years, the people of Gujarat have given us a clear mandate, yet the Congress Party has repeatedly refused to accept the will of the people.

PM Modi said that protesting against the government is a basic democratic right, but defaming the country itself raises questions on the intentions of the Congress party. When protests escalate to such an extent that even the country's achievements become a problem, it is no longer just a matter of politics – it reflects a problematic attitude.

Today India is on fast track… PM Modi

He said that earlier also plans were made, but today the results are visible. Earlier the pace was slow, today India is on fast track. Earlier the possibilities were in darkness, today the resolutions are turning into achievements. Therefore, the world is also getting the message that this is the new India, it is leaving no stone unturned for its development.
