New Delhi. Delhi Assembly and its Speaker Vijender Gupta have again received threats through email. In this email it has been said that the assembly complex will be bombed. According to officials, the Vidhan Sabha metro station near the Assembly has also received a similar threat. These threatening emails were sent early Tuesday morning. One email came on the Speaker's account at 7:49 am and the other on the official email account of the Assembly at 7:28 am.
Many leaders including Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Sandhu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa are mentioned in these emails. Following the threat, a sniffer dog squad was deployed to investigate the assembly premises and ensure security. Investigation is underway to find the source of the threats.
Meanwhile, the budget session of Delhi Assembly started with the traditional 'Kheer Ceremony' on Monday. On this occasion, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reiterated the vision of 'Developed Delhi, Green Delhi' and said that this budget will prove to be an important step towards realizing the dreams of about 3 crore Delhiites. According to a press statement issued from the Chief Minister's Office, CM Gupta said that 'Kheer Ceremony' is not just the traditional beginning of the budget process, but it is also a symbol of prosperity, auspiciousness and resolve for public welfare, which will be reflected in the upcoming budget.
Farmers, school students, teachers, doctors, members of the transgender community, women drivers and media persons also participated in this 'Kheer Ceremony' along with the Chief Minister. On this occasion, farmers traditionally honored the Chief Minister by wearing turban. On this occasion, Cabinet Ministers Pravesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra along with MLAs and many dignitaries were present. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the second budget of the government will further accelerate the pace of development of Delhi.
According to the official statement, CM Gupta said, "This budget will not only strengthen the infrastructure but will also become a medium to raise the standard of living of the people of Delhi. This budget is moving towards creating a Delhi where citizens can live with better health facilities, excellent education, strong infrastructure and a clean green environment. In this budget, priority is being given to better facilities for students, strong infrastructure in the health sector, cleanliness, pollution control and green environment." The second part (Budget Session) of the fourth session of the Eighth Assembly will end on Tuesday.
