As the UAE experiences unstable weather conditions, heavy rains have been lashing parts of the country — with a drop in temperatures expected to follow.
Overcast skies could be seen across the country all morning, with the sun barely managing to peek through the gloom.
Authorities have been issuing repeated reminders, urging residents to take necessary precautions to deal with unstable weather conditions, including driving safely and staying away from pools of water.

At around 2.45pm on Tuesday, the gloomy skies grew even darker as heavy rains poured across Dubai. The sudden showers caused a drastic drop in visibility for a short period of time.

Dubai Police, earlier on Tuesday, said that the authority had handled received 17,494 emergency and non-emergency calls between 6am on Monday and 6am on Tuesday, owing to the unstable weather conditions.
In Sharjah, too, overcast skies turned into a massive downpour quickly on Tuesday afternoon — flooding streets. Cars could be seen wading through water that had started pooling on roads.
Sharjah has announced that the public parking fee exemption is being extended until further notice, amid unstable weather conditions. The extension is on the parking fee exemption implemented on March 23.
Meanwhile, authorities in Abu Dhabi reduced speed limits across key roads earlier today and urged motorists to exercise caution while driving.
Authorities in the emirate also called on residents to remain vigilant amid the unstable weather conditions.
They specifically warned against using mobile or wired phones in open areas during thunderstorms, and urged people to stay clear of flood waters, streams, and any power lines exposed to rainwater. Residents were also advised not to lift manhole covers, and to avoid standing near trees, lamp posts, glass facades, or metal doors. They also added that all construction sites should be kept well clear during this period.
Early on Tuesday, the Ministry of Interior reminded residents of key public safety guidelines amid the adverse weather. Residents are urged not to go out unless absolutely necessary, to avoid moving around during strong winds, and to always prioritise their safety above all else.
On the roads, drivers were advised to reduce their speed, keep a safe distance from other vehicles, drive only when essential, and remain calm and cautious throughout their journey.
People were asked to stay away from valleys and flood channels, as swimming in the sea is prohibited and all pools of standing water should be avoided.
