This scheme by the Delhi government is specifically designed for Class 9 female students studying in Delhi's government schools. The government believes that, quite often, girls drop out of school due to difficulties related to commuting.

In its full-term budget this year, the Delhi government has announced several special schemes for women. According to the Delhi government, various initiatives—such as e-auto permits for women, a monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500, and 'Rani Haats'—will be implemented. Additionally, announcements have been made regarding the provision of bicycles to female students, laptops to meritorious students, and the modernization of Anganwadi centers.

The government has stated that Class 9 girls will be provided with free bicycles to ensure they face no difficulties in commuting to and from school, thereby helping to prevent instances of students dropping out midway through their studies. In light of this, let us now explain how Class 9 female students in Delhi can receive a bicycle and where they need to apply for it.

The Delhi government's bicycle distribution scheme for students is specifically aimed at Class 9 girls enrolled in government schools across Delhi. The government holds the view that commuting challenges often lead girls to discontinue their schooling; therefore, receiving a bicycle will assist them in continuing their education without interruption.

A separate budgetary allocation has been made for this scheme. Under this initiative, bicycles will be provided to students directly through their respective schools. This means that families will not be required to visit external offices to submit applications; instead, the school administration itself will handle the entire procedural process.

Furthermore, the government has not specified any separate online or offline application process for this scheme. The benefits of the scheme will be extended directly to eligible students through their schools; in other words, any student whose name is officially registered in the school records will be covered under this scheme.

The government asserts that the primary objective of this initiative is to keep female students engaged with their education and to facilitate easier access to their schools. This is expected not only to reduce school dropout rates but also to give a significant boost to girls' education.

In this budget presented by the Delhi government, the education sector has been accorded the highest priority. In addition to providing bicycles to female students, these measures also include distributing laptops to meritorious students and expanding smart classrooms in schools, with the aim of enhancing the quality of education.

According to the Delhi government's budget, women will also receive financial assistance of ₹2,500 per month. A budgetary allocation of ₹5,100 crore has been earmarked for this initiative. A dedicated portal will be launched to facilitate this process, enabling eligible women to submit their applications.

Furthermore, in accordance with the Delhi government's schemes, female school students will also benefit from free bus services.
