
Kamada Ekadashi 2026: Ekadashi fast is considered very special in Sanatan Dharma. This fast is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. There are two Ekadashi fasts every month. The first Ekadashi fast falls on the Krishna Paksha of the month and the second on the Ekadashi tithi of Shukla Paksha. The glory of Ekadashi fast is immeasurable. Kamada Ekadashi fast is observed on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month.
On this day, along with fasting, Lord Vishnu, the sustainer of the world, is worshiped with rituals. According to religious beliefs, fasting on Kamada Ekadashi is considered to destroy sins and fulfill wishes. However, this year there is doubt in the minds of people regarding the fast of Kamada Ekadashi whether this fast will be observed on 28th March or 29th. Let us know the exact date and time of breaking the fast.
According to the Panchang, Ekadashi Tithi is starting on 28th March i.e. tomorrow Saturday at 08:45 am. This date will end on Sunday, March 29 at 07:46 am. In such a situation, according to Udaya Tithi, the fast of Kamada Ekadashi will be observed on 29th March.
Do not eat rice even by mistake on the day of Kamada Ekadashi. Consumption of rice is prohibited during Ekadashi fast. Do not pluck basil leaves on the day of Ekadashi. Avoid conflict, argument or abusing anyone at home. Avoid consuming onion, garlic, meat and alcohol. It is inauspicious to shave, cut hair or cut nails on this day. Also follow complete celibacy.
It is said in the scriptures that the full results of Ekadashi fast and worship are achieved only when this fast is observed at an auspicious time, with correct method and Nimay. According to the scriptures, the fast of Ekadashi is broken only on the day of Saidava Dwadashi. In such a situation, the fast of Ekadashi will be broken on 30th March. The auspicious time for breaking the fast on this day will be between 06:14 am to 07:09 am.
