Hyderabad: Tension gripped Hyderabad’s Falaknuma on Friday, March 27, after a Muslim man allegedly died following torture in police custody, with large crowds gathering outside a local hospital where his body was brought.

Syed Rizwan, a resident of Teegalakunta locality in Falaknuma, was allegedly tortured while in the custody of the Falaknuma Police. According to sources, the police initially attempted to suppress the matter and had him admitted to Harmain Multi-Specialty Hospital in the area, where he died shortly after.

As word spread, family members and friends of Rizwan assembled in large numbers outside the hospital. A considerable police presence was deployed at the site, adding to the already fraught atmosphere.
