The moment that was awaited for a long time has arrived today. Jewar International Airport will be inaugurated today. The Prime Minister will inspect the terminal building of the airport at around 11:30 am. After this, the first phase of the airport will be inaugurated at 12 noon. Along with this, PM will also address the public meeting. Delhi-NCR and UP will directly benefit from this airport equipped with state-of-the-art facilities built in Noida. The foundation of this airport was laid on 15 November 2021. Construction work started in June 2022. After years of waiting, it will be opened today for the service of the common people.

Noida International Airport is near Yamuna Expressway, which is going to make a big contribution in the development of the country by directly promoting the speed of Delhi-NCR. Connectivity with Metro and the proposed rapid rail corridor will make it even easier. The runway length of this airport is about 3.9 kilometers, which is capable of handling wide body aircraft.

Milestone towards becoming a global aviation hub

The inauguration of Noida International Airport is a milestone towards the country becoming a global aviation hub. Noida International Airport has been built as the second international airport for Delhi-NCR which will complement Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. These two airports together will work as an integrated aviation system. This will reduce the crowd. Capacity to handle passengers will increase. With this, Delhi-NCR will be able to make its place among the leading aviation hubs of the world.

3 thousand 900 meter long runway in the airport

The first phase of this airport has been built under the PPP (Public Private Partnership) model with an investment of about ₹ 11,200 crore. Initially, the passenger handling capacity of this airport will be 12 million (MPPA) every year, which can be increased to 70 MPPA after complete construction.

It has a 3,900 meter long runway. It has advanced navigation systems, including Instrument Landing System (ILS) and advanced airfield lighting. This airport has a multi-modal cargo hub, an integrated cargo terminal and logistics zone. The cargo facility is designed to handle over 2.5 lakh metric tonnes of cargo annually, which can be expanded to approximately 18 lakh metric tonnes.
