I removed watermarks from my shower glass with a cheap kitchen item in 5 minutes

Doing the household chores sometimes feels like a thankless task. No matter how often you tidy up, there's always something still to be doing, and some areas just never seem to stay clean for very long.

For me, it's my shower glass. I'll give it a quick wipe down when I clean the bathroom, but it's been a good few months since I properly removed all the fingerprints and watermarks, and it was looking a bit worse for wear. I recently discovered that you only need one simple and cheap tool to do the job - and it's not a squeegee.

Previously, my usual shower cleaning method was to simply spray a bit of glass cleaner directly on there, leave it to sit for a bit, then wipe it off with a piece of kitchen roll. Not the most environmentally conscious approach, but it was quick and effective.

However, I came across a TikTok video which suggested you can use a soft, spongy kitchen pad instead, with a squirt of washing up liquid for that additional shine. With plenty of these lying around in my cleaning cupboard, I decided to give it a go.

For some reason I'd never thought of using one of these sponge pads for cleaning glass before. I always presumed they'd just create too many fresh smears or spread leftover dust across the surface, making it look worse than it did beforehand. However, I applied some washing up liquid to the soft side of the pad - not the rougher side, as this could end up scratching the glass - and began to buff it across the glass in sweeping circular motions.

The glass was especially cloudy and grimy towards the base, so I made certain to pay extra attention to this area.

The marks appeared to instantly lift off, producing better results than I'd ever achieved with any glass or window cleaner I'd used before. I then rinsed and wrung out the cloth before repeating the entire process again, but it only took me around five minutes.

The glass looked excellent at this point, albeit still with a few smears of water, so I took a completely clean pad and used the soft side again to buff away any remaining marks. The end result was glass so clear that it's even difficult to see where it ends and begins in the pictures.

The sponge pads gave the glass a much deeper clean, and they're so inexpensive too. You can pick up a pack of three for £6.99 from Amazon, or even cheaper from the likes of B&M and Home Bargains.
