The World Cup is fast approaching. It's just 75 days away, in fact. For the first time in history, the England football team men's national team will enter a World Cup coached by a German, in Thomas Tuchel. The former Chelsea manager is looking to become just the second boss ever to lead the Three Lions to glory after Sir Alf Ramsey in 1966.
Tuchel has already signed a contract extension to remain the manager until after Euro 2028, with England having come through World Cup qualifying with eight wins from eight, scoring 22 goals and conceding none. That perfect record will be put to a stronger test in the United States this summer against Croatia, Ghana and Panama to start with. If they win Group L, Tuchel's team could face Mexico in Mexico City as well as the likes of Brazil, Argentina and Spain to seal glory in New York on July 19.
But ahead of the tournament, there remains some debate about Tuchel's nationality, and the fact that he does not sing God Save the King - because he feels the need to "earn" the right to first. A year ago, former England and Manchester United captain Bryan Robson told us...
"Nothing against Tuchel, but yes I'd like to see the job go to a young English manager. Gareth Southgate did a great job when he was in charge. He had some really good young players and he utilised that. An English manager can do just as well as a foreign manager.
"And as a patriot of England, I would have gone with another English manager who you think is good enough to bring the best out of all the young players who we've got in the country."
But does Tuchel's nationality really matter? Our writers have already had their say HERE. And now it's time for you to have yours...
Which matters more? The manager's nationality or how successful they are? Vote in our poll below. And have your say in the comments too.
Tuchel is just the third non-British manager ever but all three have come in the 21st century. The late Sven-Goran Eriksson of Sweden was the first and Italy's Fabio Capello the second. Neither got past the quarter-finals of a World Cup.
And former striker Michael Owen, who played under both managers, agrees with Robson that the England head coach should come from these shores. He said last October: "But I think [having a foreign coach] defeats the whole purpose of international football. It should be the best of what England has to offer against other nations.
"There's no xenophobia about it at all. It's just that's what international football is. It's our country against your country. It should be an Englishman. It should be English coaches. It should be English doctors. It should be English everything. That's what it is. That's international football, and that's what it should be.
"So I've got nothing against Thomas Tuchel. He's a great manager. He could do great things. But if we win the World Cup and a German manager is lifting the World Cup, I mean, really? Whether it's a foreigner managing England or an Englishman managing a foreign national team. In my eyes, it's just not right."
