NHAI Summer Internship Registration: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has introduced its Summer Internship program for 2026. This initiative allows students to engage in ongoing national highway projects throughout the country, offering them valuable real-world experience that complements their academic learning. The internship is set to take place from May 4 to July 5, 2026, and encompasses various technical and non-technical fields. Technical disciplines include Civil Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence. Non-technical students from areas such as Law (BA LLB), Commerce, Science (BA/BCom/BSc), Management (MBA - HR, Finance, Marketing), Mass Communication, and Library Science are also welcome to apply.
Monthly Stipend of ₹20,000:
Selected interns will work at NHAI Headquarters and Regional Offices under the mentorship of seasoned professionals, gaining insights into the operational aspects of India's infrastructure sector. Interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹20,000 during their tenure.
Who Can Apply?
Undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in NIRF-ranked institutions, esteemed law universities, leading management schools, and mass communication colleges are eligible for this internship. The program aims to provide diverse academic backgrounds with practical learning opportunities.
This initiative was first launched in December 2025 and received a positive response, with 244 Civil Engineering students completing a one-month internship and 149 students participating in a six-month program from January to June 2026. Building on this success, the Summer Internship program has been expanded to accommodate more students.
