Will the LPG Shortage End?
According to an official statement received by PTI, two LPG vessels—BW TYR and BW ELM—carrying an LPG cargo of approximately 94,000 tonnes, have safely transited the Strait of Hormuz and are currently making their way toward the Indian coast. Additionally, it has been reported that the BW TYR is expected to reach Mumbai by March 31. Furthermore, the BW ELM is en route to New Mangalore and is expected to arrive on April 1.
Government Claims: LPG Situation Has Normalized
A senior official from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas informed PTI that, as of last Saturday, over 5.4 million LPG cylinders had been delivered across the country. Despite disruptions to global supply chains, domestic supply remains normal.
Moreover, the official asserted that no reports regarding stockouts of LPG at dealerships have been received.
