Lola Tung, who played Belly, on the TV adaptation of Jenny Han’s novel The Summer I Turned Pretty has shared an exciting update about the movie with the fans.

After the series concluded in September of last year, it was announced that it will be continuing with a movie.

In chat with Varietythe 23-year-old actress revealed that showrunner and author of the book series, Jenny Han, has started developing ideas for the upcoming film.

“I’ve talked to Jenny a lot about ideas,” Lola admitted. “I’m excited to read the script.”

When the outlet mentioned that a treatment for the series was reportedly making the rounds, the Forbidden Fruits star playfully quipped, “No one sent it to me.”

She also went on to discuss her vision for the future of her character, Belly, with Christopher Briney’s Conrad, saying, “They love each other so much.”

Lola admitted she imagines them to be in a long-distance relationship with Belly “living her life in Paris” and Conrad “doing his doctor stuff.”
