A sensational batting display from 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi powered Rajasthan Royals to a commanding eight-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings in the third match of IPL 2026 at Barsapara Cricket Stadium.

Chasing a modest target of 128, Rajasthan Royals completed the chase in just 12.1 overs, with more than seven overs to spare. The highlight of the match was Sooryavanshi’s explosive knock of 52 runs off just 17 balls, setting the tone for a one-sided contest.

Earlier, Chennai Super Kings struggled with the bat after being put in to bat. They were bowled out for 127 in 19.4 overs, failing to build momentum at any stage. Early breakthroughs from Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger put CSK under pressure, with key wickets falling at regular intervals.

The middle order, including Sarfaraz Khan and Shivam Dube, showed brief resistance but failed to form significant partnerships. Jamie Overton top-scored with 43 off 36 balls, but lacked support from the other end as CSK’s innings never gained stability.

In response, Rajasthan Royals came out aggressively. Sooryavanshi dominated the powerplay, smashing boundaries and sixes at will, helping RR race to 74 runs in the first six overs. His fearless innings included surviving a close LBW review and benefiting from a dropped catch early on.

Yashasvi Jaiswal anchored the innings with a calm unbeaten 38, while Riyan Parag remained not out on 14 to finish the chase. Dhruv Jurel chipped in with a quick 18 off 9 balls, ensuring there were no hiccups.

CSK’s bowlers, including Matt Henry, Khaleel Ahmed, Noor Ahmad, and Jamie Overton, struggled to contain the run flow, while fielding lapses further hurt their chances.

Sooryavanshi’s rapid fifty also placed him among the fastest half-century scorers in Rajasthan Royals’ IPL history, underlining the franchise’s legacy of explosive batting performances.
