Corey Lewandowski, who previously managed Donald Trump's campaign, is reportedly backing Kristi Noem, the former head of the Department of Homeland Security. This support comes in light of a viral incident involving her husband, Bryon Noem, and his questionable online behavior. According to sources cited by a major publication, Lewandowski is actively involved in managing the fallout from this situation.
The controversy erupted following a report from a tabloid that claimed Bryon Noem had shared images of himself dressed in cross-dressing attire within online groups associated with a specific fetish community. These images, which featured exaggerated prosthetics, quickly gained traction on social media, drawing significant public scrutiny.
The revelations about Bryon Noem have led to increased scrutiny of Kristi Noem's personal and political life. A spokesperson for Noem expressed that she is “devastated” by the allegations concerning her husband, raising concerns about the potential impact on her political career.
Despite the ongoing controversy, reports indicate that Kristi Noem and Bryon Noem continue to reside together at the Coast Guard commandant’s residence in the United States, a situation attributed to security considerations. Lewandowski, who has collaborated with Noem for several years, is reportedly playing a crucial role in managing communication and strategy during this crisis, similar to his previous advisory role when Noem was Secretary of Homeland Security.
A spokesperson from the Department of Homeland Security confirmed that Lewandowski no longer holds any position within the agency, stating, “He no longer has a role at DHS.” Previously, he served as an unpaid adviser to Noem. His relationship with Noem has been a topic of interest, especially after a Democratic lawmaker questioned her about it during a congressional hearing, which she dismissed as “tabloid garbage.”
Currently, Noem is no longer in charge of the Department of Homeland Security, as President Trump has appointed her to a new position as a special envoy related to the “Shield of the Americas” initiative. She has been succeeded by former Senator Markwayne Mullin, who has been confirmed by the Senate. A Republican strategist familiar with both Lewandowski and Noem described him as a resilient figure, stating, “He’s a survivor.”
