According to Ramayana, after Ravana took Mother Sita to Lanka, Bajrangbali crossed the vast ocean and went to Lanka in search of Mother Janaki. In Lanka, Hanuman ji met Mother Sita and gave her the message of Shri Ram. After that Lanka was burnt. Hanuman ji played an important role even during the war.
In the war, when Lord's younger brother Lakshman ji was injured by the arrows of Ravana's son Meghnad, Hanuman ji brought the entire mountain of Sanjeevani herb to save his life. In this way Bajrangbali saved Lakshman's life.
Ravana had controlled all the planets which were creating turmoil in his son's horoscope. Ravana was very worried about the position of Saturn in the horoscope. Therefore he imprisoned Shani in Lanka itself. When Hanuman ji reached Lanka in search of Mother Sita, he freed Shani Dev.
Due to Bali, Sugriva left his kingdom and was living in the forest. Hanuman ji introduced Sugriva to Lord Shri Ram. As a result, due to the efforts of Ram and Hanuman, Bali was killed, after which Sugriva got both his kingdom and respect.
According to Mahabharata, Bajrangbali was sitting on Arjun's chariot during the war. He kept protecting Arjun throughout the war.
