The Delhi High Court has directed the immediate removal of a song from the 2000s titled “Volume 1,” sung by Yo Yo Honey Singh and Badshah, citing its “grossly vulgar, obscene and derogatory” lyrics targeting women. The track was released under the name of the music collective Mafia Mundeer, according to a report by LiveLaw.

Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav observed that the song’s lyrics are highly vulgar and offensive towards women, adding that no civilised society can allow such content to remain available on digital platforms. The court ordered the two singers, along with anyone claiming rights to the track, to immediately remove all links to the song from social media accounts, music streaming services and other online platforms.
