Motorists up and down the country are facing delays and congestion on several major motorways and A-roads today, as the Easter Bank Holiday weekend has officially started.

On Friday morning, a stretch of the M1 near Luton Airport was shut down in one direction following an incident. Later the same morning, motorists faced delays on the M20, with two lanes closed on the eastbound entry slip at junction J11, the M6 toll, which was shut down between junctions T6 and T8, and the M4 eastbound between junctions J12 and J11, where two lanes were closed after a road traffic collision. Severe delays were also reported on the A27 between the junctions with the A259 Havant and the A259 Chichester West and the A20 eastbound.
