According to The Stara South Korean resident in Malaysia told the YouTube channel The Fact that they believed they saw Cho in public.

“He walked by very fast,” the individual said, adding that they were unable to capture any photo or video evidence due to the brief encounter.

Cho, 50, is best known for his role in the hit Korean drama series “Signal.”

In December last year, allegations surfaced about offenses he allegedly committed in his youth, according to Korea JoongAng Daily. Informants claimed that Cho had been sent to a juvenile detention center over accusations including car theft and attempted sexual assault, and that he spent much of his senior year of high school in a correctional facility.

As the controversy escalated, Cho acknowledged his juvenile record through his agency but denied allegations to sexual assault. He later announced his retirement from the entertainment industry.

“I humbly accept all criticism and will suspend all activities as of today,” he said at the time. “I believe this is the responsibility I must bear for my past wrongdoings. I will do my best to reflect and stand upright as an individual moving forward.”

Following his announcement, Cho withdrew from public life. He has reportedly cut off contact with fellow actors and remained inactive on social media, offering no updates about his whereabouts.
