New Delhi: The recent increase in petrol prices in Pakistan has increased the troubles of the general public. As per the latest decision, the price of petrol has reached 458 Pakistani rupees per liter. This increase has happened due to the global energy crisis and international conditions.
Ongoing geopolitical tensions around the world, especially the increasing confrontation between the US, Israel and Iran, have increased oil prices. This situation has adversely affected the economy of many countries including Pakistan.
Meanwhile, former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has expressed his reaction on this crisis and appealed to the people to support the government. In a video message he said, ‘Assalam welcome friends, I am Shahid Afridi. Despite the global energy crisis the world is facing due to the war, Alhamdulillah, Pakistan is still in a better position than many other countries.
He further said, ‘It is most important to support the government and stand with them. We should follow the steps taken by the government so as not to hinder the progress of our country.
According to the government, the main reason for the increase in prices of petrol and diesel is the rise in crude oil prices in the international market. Supply chain disruptions and global instability are also important reasons behind this growth.
According to recent data, the price of petrol has increased by about 42.7 percent and the price of diesel has increased by 54.9 percent. This increase has become a big challenge for the general public, because they are already facing the brunt of inflation.
Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik has said that these prices have been determined as per the international market and will be implemented immediately. Although Afridi’s appeal has been supported by some people, many citizens are unhappy with the increase. He says that continuously rising prices are making common life difficult.
