Cambridge, April 6, 2026: If you depend on AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or Grok for all your small tasks, then this tool can prove to be dangerous for you. In a shocking study, researchers from the world’s prestigious organization Massachusetts Institute of Technology have warned that these Artificial Intelligence tools are gradually having a negative impact on the way of thinking of humans and their basic knowledge.
According to a report by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, AI chatbots mostly try to agree with what the user says. Initially this seems very helpful because it makes the work faster. But, when a system repeatedly proves your opinion correct, you start trusting it without even testing it. This process creates a ‘feedback loop’ in which the user presents his or her own belief, the AI supports it, and ultimately the user begins to believe the false belief more strongly.
After analyzing thousands of conversations, researchers said that instead of always giving unbiased answers, AI often repeats the user’s preconceived notions. This limits the user’s perspective and prevents him from adopting new ideas. The interesting thing is that this effect has been seen not only on ordinary people, but also on very intelligent and logical people.
Another study showed that when the answer to every question is immediately available, people reduce the effort to think for themselves or search for in-depth information. As AI becomes more personalized and smarter, people will become more dependent on it. As a result, man’s natural power to learn, understand, and investigate truth may weaken.
Technical experts believe that in the pursuit of convenience, we are losing our original thinking power. In the long run, this will reduce mutual discussions among people and create a lack of new ideas. Therefore, AI should only be used as a supporting tool and not blindly trusted as fully intelligent.
