The clash between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians in Guwahati turned into more than just a team contest — it became a headline battle between 15-year-old sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi and India’s premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah. The young batter emerged victorious, smashing 13 runs off just five deliveries, including two towering sixes, at a strike rate exceeding 200.

Fresh from this statement performance, Suryavanshi has now locked in his next targets — five bowlers from Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), whom he is set to face on April 10 in Guwahati.

Leading the list is veteran swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar, accompanied by Krunal Pandya, Jacob Duffy, Abhinandan Singh, and Suyash Sharma. All five represent a formidable RCB bowling unit that has shown promising form this season.

The upcoming encounter holds added significance as it will be played at the same venue where Suryavanshi dismantled Bumrah, further raising expectations of another explosive outing.

Among the five, Bhuvneshwar Kumar stands out as a personal challenge for the young batter. During IPL 2025, the seasoned pacer dismissed Suryavanshi for 16 in Bengaluru, denying him a big score. Now, with the advantage of familiar conditions in Guwahati, Suryavanshi will be keen to turn the tables.

Suryavanshi’s coach, Manish Ojha, believes that Bhuvneshwar could pose an even greater threat than Bumrah — but only under the right conditions. If the ball swings, Bhuvneshwar’s precision could trouble the youngster. Without swing, however, his relatively lower pace may work in Suryavanshi’s favour.

As for the other RCB bowlers, Ojha expressed confidence in his ward’s aggressive approach, stating that any delivery falling into Suryavanshi’s hitting zone could end up “on the stadium roof.”

RCB’s bowling lineup enters the contest in strong form. Jacob Duffy is currently among the leading wicket-takers with five scalps, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar has claimed four. Abhinandan Singh has taken three wickets, and both Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma have contributed with two wickets each in the matches so far.
