Renowned singer Sonu Nigam recently shared a nostalgic moment from when Arijit Singh visited him after a long absence of 15 years. During this heartfelt reunion, Arijit presented Sonu with a plant, which now holds a special place in his home mandir. The two celebrated their bond with some memorable performances. In a series of posts on social media, Nigam expressed, "#throwback: 13th Jan 2026, my dear Arijit at my home. After nearly 15 years. I am so proud of his journey over these years, and he knows how much he means to me. The plant he gifted now decorates my mandir."
He continued, "My little genius Shashwat and Magic also joined us, adding even more joy to the occasion. I might share a clip of Shashwat performing 'Soona Soona' on the whistle later. It's such a delightful sight! But I’ll decide later based on how many people want to see it."
Recently, Arijit surprised fans by announcing his retirement from playback singing through an emotional message. However, he later clarified in February that despite his retirement, he would continue to release songs that were already in the pipeline.
He explained, “While I have stopped accepting new projects, I still have many pending songs to complete. I won’t keep explaining this to everyone; there are numerous unfinished songs that will be released until they are done.”
For those unfamiliar, over the past decade, Singh has emerged as one of the most significant voices in modern Hindi cinema. He made his playback debut in Bollywood with the song 'Raabta' from 'Agent Vinod' in 2012, composed by Pritam. However, it was the iconic track 'Tum Hi Ho' from 'Aashiqui 2', released in 2013, that truly launched him into superstardom, making him the most cherished voice for romantic songs in Hindi films. Throughout his career, the superstar has produced numerous chart-topping hits across various genres, including 'Channa Mereya', 'Agar Tum Saath Ho', 'Gerua', 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', 'Kesariya', 'Phir Le Aaya Dil', 'Khairiyat', and 'Shayad', among many others.
