One character's jargon on Beyond Paradise has gone too far for the BBC drama's loyal viewers. Chief Superintendent Smith has lost fans with his words, as many have called for his exit from the show.
Sharing a confused looking GIF to X/Twitter, one fan penned: "The UK when Chief Superintendent Smith is talking his business jargon #BeyondParadise." Another fumed: "Can Mr Smith get in the bin!?" While one more suggested: "How about Mr Smith commit a murder in the finale so he can get arrested?" Someone else wrote: "Hopefully, Humph will go above Smith and get that slimy git fired. Problem solved. #BeyondParadise." Even before the episode began, the BBC poked fun at the character themselves. Posting to social media, they shared a bingo card of phrases used by him as they captioned it: "Advance warning: James Smith is in this episode, so we made you a handy little guide to understanding corporate jargon, in case it helps... #BeyondParadise."
Humphrey's superior officer, James Smith, played by Vincent Franklin, was back on screens this evening after he first arrived in episode one. He instantly made himself the bad guy as he shared the news that the team needed to make some staff cutbacks.
The team were on call to attend a Dark Morris Dancing event, known as the "Legend of the Knuckerhole Dragon".
While there, Margo found herself at the centre of a crime when a member of her team collapsed during their performance.
With a severe allergic reaction to blame, and the victim's epi-pen case empty, Humphrey was left completely stumped as to how the attack was triggered unseen whilst all eyes were on the stage.
As jealousy and secrets came to light, the targeting of the victim's allergic reaction began to paint a sinister picture. And with a connection to the crime, Margo was put to the test as she went undercover to see what clues a familiar face might hold.
Meanwhile, Humphrey and Martha decided to take a big step on their homeowning journey, but Humphrey's mind was preoccupied when a powerful figure from the Hub arrived at the station looking for answers.
Elsewhere, Esther was left feeling floored when Zoe suddenly revealed her decision to travel the world.
