South Korea has launched a year-round online promotion hub and live admission webinars to attract more international students, as part of efforts to expand access to study-related information. The initiative has been introduced by the Ministry of Education in partnership with the National Institute for International Education.
The new hub is available through a government-run portal established in 2012 for international students, according to a report by The Korea Times. The platform provides information on universities, scholarships, visas and employment in one place, while also supporting education fairs, applications and scholarship updates.
Authorities said the newly launched hub replaces last year’s short-term online fairs with a permanent system, allowing prospective students to access information at any time. It also enables universities and local governments to maintain continuous engagement with applicants.
Platform offers courses, visas and employment details
The portal is divided into four sections, covering Korean language training programmes, English-track degree courses, junior college vocational programmes, and local government initiatives such as student support policies and regional visa programmes.

Separately, the institute is hosting a webinar-based admission fair through Sunday, featuring 40 universities and real-time counselling sessions, as reported by The Korea Times. Around 70,000 participants had joined similar events last year.
The sessions include briefings on language training, employment-linked programmes and degree courses. Participants can access university-specific question-and-answer boards, live chat rooms and recorded sessions.
Minister of Education Choi Kyo-jin said, “the government will continue to expand support across the full cycle of international education, from recruitment to study, employment and long-term settlement.”
Han Sang-shin, president of the institute, said efforts will continue to support universities and local governments in attracting international students and strengthen Korea’s position as a global study destination.
