Vogue Williams has been branded as "grating to work with" by her husband, Spencer Matthews, in a candid revelation. The model, 40, and her endurance athlete partner used to work together and shared a podcast called Spencer & Vogue. However, working together on similar topic has put the couple "in a competitive scenario".

Spencer, 37, recently spoke about how alcohol quietly took over his life and how he was not good enough for his wife before cutting back on his alcohol consumption. He also admired Vogue's work ethics, but admitted he felt "less equal" in the first few years of dating.

Speaking on On The Mend podcast, the former TV personality said putting a different spin at career has helped him winning at life. He said: "She wants to be a TV presenter, I've never wanted to be a TV presenter. So having those differences in what we do has been really helpful. When she lands something, I'm really proud of her."

Then he recalled the times when they worked on similar things together, he continued: "She would get something that I was potentially interested in, it was a bit like, you're happy for your partner obviously, but it's also a bit of a kick in the teeth. It's like well, why didn't I get it?

"That creates, not issues, but there is a slight competition is probably a good word for it.

"If you're in a competitive scenario with your partner, it can be a bit grating. It does kind of create that bristliness even though at the end of the day, we are very happy for each other. And now, we have none of that."

Spencer said they are happy to fully support each other without feeling competitve. Vogue spoke to The Sun in November and recalled how the public reacted to their spilt in career paths.

She said: "When he left our podcast, everyone was like, 'What's going on?'"

The couple is now enjoying a holiday with their three chidren - Theodore, seven, daughter Gigi, five, and son Otto, three - on the Caribbean island of St Barths.
