Emmerdale spoilers have teased what lies ahead for Moira and Cain Dingle as she attempts to rebuild her life following her release from prison - and the outlook is far from promising.

Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) walked free from jail this week after being wrongfully imprisoned for double murder and alleged involvement in Celia Daniels' (Jaye Griffiths) sinister human trafficking operation.

During Moira's absence, her family has endured considerable turmoil. Alongside husband Cain's (Jeff Hordley) cancer diagnosis, he and their children uprooted from Butler's Farm and relocated to Wishing Well with the likes of Sam (James Hooton) and Lydia (Karen Blick).

The family were also compelled to sell Moira's cherished farm to the villainous Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), with Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) now serving as the current tenant.

In Friday's episode (April 17), Moira found herself struggling to adapt to her new living arrangements at Wishing Well. Tensions quickly flared with Lydia before a heated argument erupted between Moira and Cain, reports the Daily Star.

A frustrated Cain accused Moira of making everything about herself, despite battling his own cancer. An incensed Moira subsequently stormed off to the Woolpack to drown her sorrows.

However, spoilers for the coming week suggest matters deteriorate further for the couple. Still unsettled without her own home, Lydia generously offers Moira some alone time in the house, and Moira eagerly anticipates precious time with Cain.

Yet when Sam and Lydia break the news to Cain, Sam simply cannot resist winding Cain up about the prospect.

Upon his return, Cain feels he has been manipulated into intimacy before he is ready and grows frustrated that Moira would discuss his personal anxieties with others.

Seething, Cain storms off, and subsequently, Lydia comforts Moira as she acknowledges the scheme has spectacularly misfired. Moreover, amidst the tension in their relationship, viewers have also speculated that a shocking separation could be imminent for Cain and Moira.

On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one person wrote: "What is Moira's problem?" A second chimed in: "I think she and Cain are going to split." A third penned: "Yes, for a brief period, but they'll get back together."
