IPL Points Table 2026 Updated After GT vs KKR match:Gujarat Titans jumped to the fourth position in the IPL 2026 standings after defeating Kolkata Knight Riders by 5 wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium on April 17. The Ajinkya Rahane-led side remained at the bottom of the points table.
After opting to bat first, KKR bundled out for 180 runs in 20 overs. They lost three wickets in the powerplay with Rahane and Raghuvanshi falling in the opening two overs. Tim Seifert also failed to make an impact, as Rabada and Siraj rattled KKR’s top order.
Rovman Powell and Cameron Green stitched a 50-plus partnership to help them recover. Ashok Sharma removed Powell for 27 in the 11th over, but Green batted with great intent and scored his first fifty of the IPL 2026. His knock put KKR in a great position to set a competitive target for GT.
But the Kolkata-based franchise lost momentum in the final overs as Green struggled to get enough strike in the last five. They lost 6 wickets for 33 runs and set a 180-run target. Kagiso Rabada picked up three wickets, while Mohammed Siraj and Ashok Sharma took two each.
In reply, GT got off to a flying start as Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan forged a 57-run partnership in the first five overs for the opening wicket. Sunil Narine dismissed Sudharsan for 22, but skipper Gill continued playing attacking shots and completed his half-century. He stitched two crucial partnerships with Jos Buttler (25) and Washington Sundar (13).
Gill looked well-set for a hundred, but Cameron Green’s good catch ended his knock. He smashed 86 runs off 50 balls with the help of 8 boundaries and 4 maximums. After his dismissal, KKR bowled well and managed to take the match to the final over. Phillips’ wicket gave them a little bit of hope, but Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia finished the match as GT clinched their third successive victory of the season.

GT skipper Shubman Gill moved to the top of the Orange Cap list after playing a match-winning knock against KKR. He now has 251 runs in four matches. RCB star batter Virat Kohli is in the second position with 228 runs in five matches. SRH’s wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klassen is in third spot after scoring 224 runs in five games.
