Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has issued a notice to JDU MP Giridhari Yadav and sought his reply. This action has been taken on the basis of the complaint given against him by JDU. In fact, on March 25, JDU leader in Lok Sabha Dileshwar Kamat had accused Banka MP Girdhari Yadav of being involved in anti-party activities and demanded his disqualification and submitted a notice to the Lok Sabha Speaker in this regard. Now, moving forward on the same complaint, the Speaker has sought a reply from Girdhari Yadav, due to which the process of further action in this matter has started.
Kamat had alleged that Dilawar Yadav, who has been in JD(U) since 2010, is said to have carried out 'anti-party activities' during the 2025 assembly elections and campaigned against the party's candidate from Belhar. His son Chanakya Prakash Ranjan had contested elections from this seat on RJD ticket.
Kamat had said that Chanakya lost the election to JD(U)'s Manoj Yadav by a huge margin, but the party took seriously the move of Giridhari Yadav that he made his son contest the election on RJD ticket and campaigned for it. It is noteworthy that Giridhari Yadav had won this seat twice on party ticket in 2010 and 2015.
Giridhari Yadav has also won the Banka Lok Sabha seat five times since 1996. For the first time, he had won on Janata Dal ticket, whereas in 2004 he had won the election on RJD ticket. From 2019 till now, he has won on JD(U) ticket thrice.
Kamat had met Speaker Om Birla and handed him a detailed notice. He had said that I filed this petition on the instructions of the party, because there is enough evidence that Yadav resorted to anti-party activities and campaigned against the party.
