Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji: Puducherry Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan paid obeisance with the Sikh Sangat at the local Gurudwara Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on the auspicious occasion of Khalsa Sajna Day and Vaisakhi on Sunday. On this occasion, a large number of devotees gathered from Puducherry, Chennai and surrounding areas, creating a religious atmosphere of deep spirituality and community harmony.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor mentioned the important contribution of the Sikh community in the progress and development of the nation and underlined the rich heritage of the Sikhs, their sacrifice, spirit of service and their commitment towards the national interest. Praising Sikh principles like Seva and Langar, he described them as enduring examples of selfless service and social equality that continue to inspire the society.
The Gurudwara management warmly welcomed the Lieutenant Governor and presented him with traditional gifts as a mark of respect, which included the Tamil translation of Sri Japji Sahib, the sacred words of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji and a model of Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar. Along with this, he was also given a headgear as a symbol of respect by the Sikh Sangat.
Showing simplicity, inherent equality, brotherhood and inclusivity, the Lieutenant Governor also took Guru Ka Langar while sitting in the queue with the Sangat. The Sikh Sangat expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor for his continued support and his active engagement with the Sikhs in the Union Territory.
