Delhi Government's Labor and Employment Minister Kapil Mishra held a review meeting with officials of the Labor and Employment Department and Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board on Wednesday. In this meeting, the Cabinet Minister gave important instructions regarding the protection of employment and workers' interests and their social security and said that employment generation for the youth and increasing the income of workers is the priority of the Delhi Government. Quickly complete the process of organizing quarterly employment fairs in Delhi and soon start the skill training program for workers registered under the Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
Minister Kapil Mishra said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the Delhi government is moving towards the goal of self-reliant and developed Delhi. In the meeting, Kapil Mishra reviewed the progress of Delhi rules under the four labor codes, Wage Code, Industrial Relations Code, Social Security Code and Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code. He directed that as soon as the notification regarding labor laws is issued by the Central Government, preparations should be made for a notification to be issued by the Delhi Government in the interest of workers.
Labor and Employment Minister Kapil Mishra directed to quickly complete all the necessary processes for organizing quarterly employment fairs in Delhi, so that employment opportunities can be provided to more and more youth. He said that there should be sufficient number of companies, startups and other employment providers in employment fairs so that youth can get diverse employment opportunities.
Kapil Mishra said that skill training programs should be started soon to upgrade the skills of workers, so that their employability can increase and their income can also increase. Training programs should be designed according to the needs of the industry, so that trained workers can get better employment opportunities. This initiative will not only improve the living standards of the workers, but will also improve the productivity and quality of the construction sector in Delhi.
If any eligible workers among the affected workers were deprived of pollution allowance during the period of Grape Three and Grape Four, then the Labor Minister directed to provide the pending amount to them soon. Kapil Mishra gave instructions to ensure speedy disposal of all pending cases and challans through Lok Adalat for speedy disposal of pending cases related to the Labor Department. The Labor Minister said that departmental provisions promoting ease of doing business should be widely publicized so that industries, traders and common citizens can get information about these reforms and can take advantage of them.
