UPESSC PGT Exam 2026: The Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) recruitment examination conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) is scheduled to be held on May 9 and 10, 2026. Due to the significant gap between the issuance of the advertisement in 2022 and the actual examination, many candidates have either secured positions elsewhere or have abandoned their preparation; consequently, this presents an excellent opportunity for diligent candidates. Candidates who, for any reason, had discontinued their preparation midway should not lose heart. With only fifteen days remaining, success can still be achieved through a well-planned strategy, using one's prior preparation as a foundation.

**Understand the Exam Pattern**
The PGT examination features questions based on a single subject at the postgraduate level, along with questions related to current events pertaining to that specific subject. The exam consists of a total of 125 objective-type questions. Each question carries 3.4 marks, bringing the total maximum marks for the examination to 425. A duration of two hours has been allotted for the examination.

**Focus on Revision**
The questions in the PGT examination tend to be relatively complex; they are often crafted by combining multiple facts to make them specific, which can lead to confusion when selecting the correct answer. Therefore, one should avoid superficial preparation and resist the temptation of attractive study materials available in the market. Focus solely on the repeated revision of standard textbooks, selected study materials, and personal notes prepared earlier. Refrain from studying unnecessary material and extraneous facts, while simultaneously keeping a keen eye on current events related to your subject.

**Solve Previous Years' Questions**
Practicing previous years' question papers is crucial for success in the examination. Additionally, solving questions asked in exams such as UGC NET, TGT, and those conducted for government schools can prove highly beneficial. Regularly practicing with model papers available in the market and practice sets on online platforms further strengthens one's preparation. This helps in developing a better understanding of the question patterns and their difficulty levels.

Prepare by establishing a disciplined daily routine.
Incorporate fact revision and the solving of model papers into your daily schedule.
Solve questions that were asked in previous years' examinations. In the final stage, avoid studying new material or unnecessary facts.

Discipline and Patience Are Essential

To achieve success in an examination, maintaining a disciplined daily routine during preparation—along with effective time management during the exam itself—is absolutely crucial. Candidates should create a daily schedule tailored to their own convenience, striking a balance between reviewing factual information and solving model papers. During the final phase of preparation, one should refrain from studying new material or extraneous facts. By preparing with patience and keeping mental distractions in check, success can be achieved in any examination.
