Indore, which has consistently made a name for itself in terms of cleanliness in the country, has now again intensified preparations for the Swachh Survekshan. In fact, the Municipal Corporation has instructed the officials to go directly to the field and monitor the cleanliness system. The goal is that better sanitation should be seen in every ward and the city should once again be ahead in the race of becoming the cleanest city in the country.
Recently, in an important meeting of the Municipal Corporation, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava reviewed the preparations for the Swachh Survekshan with the Health Department and other officials. Various points of cleanliness were discussed in the meeting and officers were instructed to reach the field early in the morning and monitor the cleanliness system. This time the focus of the corporation is not limited to cleanliness only, but emphasis is also being laid on the overall cleanliness of the city and participation of citizens.
Let us tell you that Swachh Survekshan is considered to be the biggest campaign to assess the cleanliness system of cities across the country. In this, the ranking of cities is decided on several parameters, such as waste management, road cleanliness, condition of public places and citizen participation. Indore has been consistently securing first position in this survey for the last several years. This is the reason why this time also the Municipal Corporation does not want to show any laxity. Clear instructions have been given to the officials that there should be regular inspection in every zone and ward and small problems should be rectified immediately.
The Municipal Corporation believes that cleanliness is not only the responsibility of the administration but the people of the city also have a big role in it. Therefore, the corporation is now also emphasizing on awareness campaign. In many areas, people are being motivated to collect garbage separately and keep public places clean. Apart from this, a plan is also being made to strengthen the garbage collection system in the city. So that garbage is collected from every area on time and dirt does not accumulate anywhere.
In fact, the Municipal Corporation is now planning to extend the cleanliness campaign to different institutions of the city. The Mayor has directed that the prescribed standards of cleanliness should be strictly followed in the schools of the city. Special activities can also be organized in schools to teach the habit of cleanliness to children.
