Washington: General Anil Chauhan, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of India, recently engaged in talks with a senior official from the US Indo-Pacific Command, highlighting the growing strategic partnership between the two countries regarding regional security.
During his meeting with General Kevin B. Schneider, the Commander of the Pacific Air Force and Air Component Commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command, both leaders stressed their mutual priorities in ensuring regional security and their ongoing commitment to fostering peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.
The Integrated Defence Staff Headquarters shared on social media that General Chauhan's discussions with General Schneider reaffirmed the strengthening strategic alignment between India and the US, emphasizing their shared determination to maintain regional security and stability.
Both parties expressed a strong desire to broaden and operationalize the scope, complexity, and frequency of their bilateral and TriService collaborations.
Acknowledging technology as a crucial factor in modern power dynamics, the partnership is evolving with improved synergy, capabilities, and strategic insight.
Earlier this week, General Chauhan also met with senior military officials from the UK.
During his visit, he conferred with Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton, the UK’s Chief of Defence Staff, where both nations reiterated their commitment to tackle contemporary challenges, including global trade disparities and emerging cyber threats, while promoting a peaceful and prosperous Indo-Pacific.

While in the UK, General Chauhan also interacted with the Commandant and faculty at the Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS), discussing the changing global security landscape and its strategic implications.
He later addressed a key cohort on the 'Impact of Recent Conflicts on Military Strategy', focusing on the evolving nature of conflict, India's strategic challenges, and its role in fostering a stable global order.
