The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have been performing well in Indian Premier League 2026 because they hold the second position on the points table. The team now faces an injury problem which affects their players. Phil Salt their opening batter will be unavailable for the match against Delhi Capitals (DC).
Salt picked up his injury while he was training during a net session before the match against Gujarat Titans. He missed the previous game and Dinesh Karthik who serves as batting coach has announced that he remains unfit. The team wants to avoid all risks so they will wait until he reaches complete recovery.
Will RCB Be Able To Function Without Salt?
Salt has been one of the key players for RCB this season. He has scored 202 runs in six matches, including two half-centuries. His aggressive style at the start of the innings has helped RCB get quick runs in the powerplay.
Jacob Bethell replaced him in the last match but his performance did not have major effects on the game. The team will face DC while missing Salt who had been their most efficient scorer.
RCB fans will be hoping that the team can still perform well without him. The management is also focused on making sure Salt is fit for the rest of the tournament.

Teams Face Additional Injuries
RCB have multiple players who face injury problems at the same time. Fast bowler Rasikh Salam Dar is also doubtful. He had to leave the field in the last match due to a muscle issue and may not play against DC.
The other team which played against Delhi Capitals in their previous game faced a dangerous situation. Their pacer Lungi Ngidi suffered a bad fall and hurt his neck. He went to the hospital immediately but current reports indicate that he is now recovering from his injuries.
RCB Aim to Settle Score Against DC
The upcoming match represents a reverse fixture of the two teams. Delhi Capitals won their last match against RCB. Salt had scored a good 63 in that match, while David Miller finished the game for DC. RCBwill now look to take revenge, even without Salt. The team achieved victory in their last match because Virat Kohli scored 81 runs.
DC faced a difficult match which started with KL Rahul scoring 152 runs but his team suffered a defeat because Punjab chased a huge total.
The match between both teams becomes highly appealing because each team faces both injuries and high-stakes circumstances.
