US President Donald Trump was completely ripped into by a LBC host. James O'Brien criticised the American leader's welcome speech to King Charles as he struggled to make sense of it.

The news presenter suggested that even the President himself didn't seem to know what he meant as he said: "It's highly unlikely that Trump even knew what was going on. He doesn't seem to understand the words that he is actually saying himself at some points, during his oratorical excursions." The show then cut to a clip of Trump churning out some random thoughts, as he said: "Majestic inheritance, their veins ran with Anglo-Saxon courage." It then returned to the studio as O'Brien exclaimed: "What?" Trump's speech continued: "Their hearts beat with an English faith and standing firm for what is right, good.

"In recent years, we've often heard it said that America is merely an idea. But the cause of freedom did not simply appear as an intellectual invention of 1776."

O'Brien then cut in once more as he mocked: "Go on, try and work out where the punctuation marks are." He added: "I would pay good money for somebody to ask him, immediately after that, what his speech had been about."

Fans then piled on in the mockery of Trump. One person wrote on X/Twitter: "I would pay good money to know what was going through the mind of King Charles as he was listening to this display of verbal diarrhoea."

One more echoed: "The king was trying not to crack up I swear," as another said: "Clearly, Trump wrote his King's speech on the back of a cigarette packet in one minute."

However, others hit out at the presenter. One person slammed: "James O'Brien and his Trump Derangement Syndrome shows no let up LBC stick him on the night shift so he can talk to himself."

Another added: "It was a historic amazing speech. Best speech Trump has ever made. UK & US agree with that. Inspired. You're pure hate for Trump just shines through & shows how pathetic you are."

"It's about shared history and patriotism! Stop being a leftie," someone else fumed.
