The BPSC has cancelled the AEDO and APSWMO examinations. During the Assistant Education Development Officer Competitive Examination, the district administration took action against candidates at certain centers who were found engaging in malpractice using devices such as Bluetooth. Furthermore, 32 candidates have been debarred from participating in future examinations conducted by the Commission on charges of attempting malpractice and causing irregularities during the examination.

The BPSC has cancelled all 09 (nine) shifts of the Assistant Education Development Officer Written (Objective) Competitive Examination, held from April 14 to April 21, as well as the Assistant Public Sanitation and Waste Management Officer Written (Objective) Competitive Examination, held on April 23. However, the BPSC has also acknowledged that, during the course of the investigation, no evidence was found to suggest that the question papers for the aforementioned examinations were leaked or went viral. Additionally, no specific question paper belonging to any set or series of the said examinations was recovered.

In this regard, the BPSC states that while FIRs were registered against candidates caught in possession of Bluetooth devices, reports circulating in various newspapers and on social media suggested that attempts were made to compromise the integrity of the examination at certain centers. Therefore, keeping the interests of meritorious candidates in mind—and in adherence to the Commission's commitment to conducting examinations in a malpractice-free and transparent manner—these examinations have been cancelled. The advertisement number for the Assistant Education Development Officer Written (Objective) Competitive Examination is 87/2025, and the advertisement number for the Assistant Public Sanitation and Waste Management Officer Written (Objective) Competitive Examination is 108/2025. For the time being, both examinations stand cancelled. The BPSC will subsequently announce the revised dates for these examinations.
