NEET UG 2026 Exam Set for Sunday: New Guidelines and Centers Announced

New Delhi: The NEET UG 2026 examination is scheduled for this Sunday. Notably, private schools will not serve as examination centers in major cities like Prayagraj. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has emphasized that only reliable institutions have been selected to ensure a transparent and cheating-free examination process. Previously, private schools were often designated as centers, but this policy has now changed.


Examination Centers in Prayagraj 46 Centers Designated for the Exam

A total of 20,633 students will participate in the examination in Prayagraj, with 46 centers established for this purpose. All centers are located in government or reputable educational institutions. Each center will have a static magistrate present to enhance the credibility of the examination and prevent any irregularities.


Key Institutions Hosting the Exam Institutions Selected as Exam Centers

Major examination centers in Prayagraj include the Law and Commerce Departments of Allahabad University, Ishwar Sharan Degree College, CMP Degree College, SS Khanna Girls Degree College, and Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Government PG College in Naini. Additionally, technical institutions such as MNNIT, IIIT Jhalwa, and IERT have also been designated as centers. Priority has been given to government and aided schools.


Central Schools Included Central Schools Granted Examination Center Status

This year, CBSE Central Schools in Manouri, Fafamau, Old Cantt, New Cantt, and Army Public School New Cantt have also been appointed as examination centers. Comprehensive security measures have been implemented at all these locations, enhancing trust in the examination process by excluding private institutions.

The NTA has issued a strict warning to candidates advising against relying solely on Google Maps for locating their examination centers. In some instances, map pins may be incorrect or unclear. Students should physically verify the address provided on their admit cards.

The NTA recommends that students familiarize themselves with the route to their examination center by May 3. Arriving early is crucial, so students should consider their transportation, companions, and weather conditions to avoid any last-minute issues on exam day.
