During the pre-party of Met Gala held in New York, Isha Ambani attracted everyone’s attention with her special fashion style. She wore a neo-traditional dress which clearly reflected Indian tradition along with modern design. This look was not only stylish but also showcased the rich craftsmanship of India on the global stage.
On this special occasion, Isha arrived at Vogue’s pre-party in a special outfit prepared in collaboration with Manish Malhotra and Swadesh. This dress was completely handmade and the details of Indian craft were beautifully carved in it. Swadesh is an initiative of Reliance Retail, which aims to encourage artisans and their art across the country.
Her strapless dress was crafted from 26 different traditional borders representing different parts of India. The outfit was in line with this year’s “Costume Art” theme and can be considered a living symbol of the diversity of Indian fashion.
Many famous textile techniques from across the country were incorporated in the dress. In this, a mixture of traditional arts like Zari workmanship of Uttar Pradesh, Parsi Gara embroidery, Maheshwari weaving of Madhya Pradesh, Kanjeevaram silk of Tamil Nadu, Paithani of Maharashtra, Banarasi brocade and Kantha embroidery of West Bengal were seen. Apart from this, the intricate embroidery like karchobi, aari and tilla made this garment even more special. It took more than 450 hours for the artisans to prepare this dress, which shows its meticulousness and hard work.
This look of Isha was prepared by celebrity stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania. She complemented it with attractive jewellery, of which the metallic braid accessory from Outhouse brand was a special attraction. Apart from this, she further enhanced her style with smokey eye makeup, decorated eyebrows and bold look. Heavy earrings and ring cuff added a touch of glamor to her entire look.
Isha Ambani has been continuously making her presence felt at the Met Gala for the last few years and remains in the news with her look every time. Last year, she wore a gown designed by Anamika Khanna, which she styled with stunning jewelery from her mother Nita Ambani. Whereas in 2024, he had chosen Rahul Mishra’s design.
Now curiosity about Met Gala 2026 has increased. This prestigious event is going to be held on May 4 this year at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Viewers in India will be able to watch the live telecast on Vogue’s YouTube channel from around 3:30 am on May 5. Looking at Isha Ambani’s pre-party look, it can be said that this time too she is going to present something special and memorable on the red carpet, which can give a new identity to Indian fashion on the international stage.
