The Indian Army contingent has left to participate in the second edition of the India-Cambodia bilateral military exercise CINBAX-II 2026. This joint exercise will be conducted from 4 to 17 May 2026 at the Royal Cambodian Air Force Training Center (Camp Basil) located in Kampong Speu province of Cambodia. This exercise is being considered an important step towards further strengthening the defense cooperation between the two countries.
As part of India's continued defense cooperation with friendly countries, bilateral exercise CINBAX-II with Cambodia assumes special significance in the changing environment of global security challenges. The exercise will be conducted under Chapter VII of the United Nations mandate to demonstrate company level joint training for operations in sub-conventional environments.

According to the information, 120 soldiers of the Indian Army are taking part in this military exercise, mostly soldiers of Maratha Light Infantry Regiment. On behalf of Cambodia, 160 soldiers of the Royal Cambodian Army are participating. The exercise will focus on company level joint training based on Sub-Conventional Operations under Chapter VII of the United Nations.
The CINBAX-II 2026 joint exercise will be tailored to the current circumstances of counter-terrorism operations faced by peacekeeping forces during United Nations peacekeeping operations. This goal will be achieved through various practical and comprehensive discussions as well as tactical exercises, which will result in a comprehensive verification exercise. Special skills training including drone operations, mortar and sniper tactics will be practiced as part of the exercise. This joint exercise will strengthen coordination, coordination and operational capability between the armies of both the countries.
The exercise will not only showcase the capability of both the countries towards maintaining global peace but will also facilitate exchange of best practices and sharing of operational experiences gained during various operations against hostile forces in semi-urban environments.
