Battery Anxiety in India: Indian smartphone users have started worrying about smartphone battery. This claim has been made by a new report by Counterpoint Research. The report claims that out of about 75 crore smartphone users in the country, about 90 percent feel worried about low battery. As soon as the battery falls between 50 and 30 percent, people start feeling uneasy. This shows how important a part the smartphone has become in our lives today.
According to the report of Counterpoint Research, as the battery percentage decreases, the concern of users increases rapidly. About 72 percent people get more nervous when the battery goes below 20 percent. About 65 percent of the users admitted that they feel emotional discomfort when the battery runs out. Not only this, about 65 percent people consider battery performance as the biggest reason while buying a new phone. These figures show that battery has now become not just a feature but the most important part of the user experience.
Smartphone usage habits in India are also increasing this problem. According to the report, 90 percent of users charge their phones at least twice a day. At the same time, about 40 percent people keep using the phone continuously even while charging it. Apart from this, 40 percent people check their phone first thing in the morning and last thing before sleeping at night. The average Indian user spends about 6 hours a day on the phone, which is one of the highest in the world. This increases pressure on the battery and also increases anxiety.
It has also been revealed in the report that now while buying a smartphone, people do not just look at the price or storage, but are also paying attention to AI features. About 89 percent of users said that AI features influence their buying decisions. About 58 percent of people use AI features daily, with voice assistants being the most used. People of different ages are using AI in different ways, such as young people for creating and editing content, while others are using it for everyday tasks like planning and advice.
Amidst the rising prices of smartphones, EMI has emerged as a big option. According to the report, about 43 percent users resort to EMI while purchasing phones. At the same time, 79 percent people believe that it becomes easier to buy expensive phones through EMI. It is clear from this that people are now preferring to pay in easy installments instead of spending the entire amount at once. This trend shows that along with technology, financing options are also playing an important role in the decisions of users.
