After BJP's bumper victory in Bengal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is going on a two-day tour of West Bengal. This tour of Amit Shah will start on 8th May. According to sources, he will reach Kolkata at 10 am, where he will hold a meeting with the core team of RSS and BJP of West Bengal at a hotel in Newtown.

Apart from this, an important meeting has been scheduled with the newly elected MLAs on May 8 between 12 noon to 2 pm, in which the leader of the legislative party will be elected and the name of the Chief Minister will be officially announced. It is being told that Shamik Bhattacharya will propose the name for the post of Chief Minister. Amit Shah will return to Delhi from Bengal after the swearing-in ceremony on May 9. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also reach Kolkata on the morning of 9th May.

Who are the contenders for the post of Chief Minister?

After the West Bengal Assembly elections, speculations are being made about who will be the face of BJP in Bengal. There are many names in the race for Chief Minister, in which Suvendu Adhikari is considered a strong contender for this post. Apart from them, there are many other names, among which Agnimitra Paul is also one. According to sources, BJP wants to make a woman the Chief Minister of Bengal. In this respect, the first choice of the high command is Agnimitra Paul.
