Hamirpur (Uttar Pradesh): A tragic incident occurred in the Yamuna River, where five individuals, including four children, drowned after their boat capsized. An 11-year-old boy is still unaccounted for, as reported by local authorities on Thursday.
The accident took place on Wednesday evening in the Kutubpur Patiya village, part of the Bhauli gram panchayat, while nine passengers were returning from a river island, excluding the boatman.
According to police reports, the boat lost stability and overturned around 7 PM. The boatman, identified as Dheeru, successfully rescued three individuals: Vishnu, Rinku, and Parul.
Unfortunately, six others, comprising five children and one woman—Akanksha (9), Rani (9), Brijrani (25), Labhyansh (5), Mahesh (6), and Aditya (11)—went missing.
