Ekadashi date is considered very important in Hindu religion. This Ekadashi falls in the Krishna Paksha of Jyeshtha month. There is a tradition to worship Lord Vishnu on this day. According to religious beliefs, whoever worships Shri Hari with devotion on this day, all the sorrows and troubles go away from his life and happiness and peace resides in him. . A large number of devotees observe fast on this day and worship Lord Vishnu. Now there is a question in the minds of people that on which day the Ekadashi fast will be observed.

Why is Ekadashi fast observed?

In Hindu religion, Ekadashi fast is considered dedicated to Lord Vishnu. According to religious beliefs, observing this fast destroys a person’s sins and brings happiness, peace and prosperity in life. It is said that fasting and worshiping Lord Vishnu on the day of Ekadashi purifies the mind and soul. Many devotees observe this fast to attain salvation and also to get the blessings of God. In religious texts, Ekadashi has been described as a very auspicious date.

How is fasting done?

On the day of Ekadashi fast, Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi are worshiped after waking up early in the morning and taking bath. Devotees take a pledge and keep fast throughout the day. Many people observe Nirjala fast, while some consume fruits. Eating rice and tamasic food is avoided on this day. Chanting Vishnu mantras and God’s name during the puja is considered auspicious. Next day, on Dwadashi Tithi, the fast is broken after the puja.

 

Chant this mantra

Chanting the mantra ‘Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya’ during the worship of Lord Vishnu during Ekadashi fast is considered most auspicious. According to religious beliefs, chanting this mantra brings peace to the mind and grants the blessings of Lord Vishnu. Apart from this, devotees can also recite ‘Om Vishnuve Namah’ and Vishnu Sahasranama. Chanting mantras with devotion and concentration at the time of worship is considered especially fruitful.
