There is a relief news for the people living in rural areas of Madhya Pradesh. Now consumers living in villages will be given domestic electricity connections for just Rs 5. For this, Central Region Electricity Distribution Company is going to start ‘Sampark Abhiyaan 2026’ from May 14. The aim of this campaign is to provide electricity services to the people in an easy and fast manner.

Managing Director of the company, Rishi Garg has given clear instructions to the officials that the complaints of the consumers should be resolved immediately during the campaign. In the review meeting held at Rajgarh circle office, he said that the electricity department will now have to work in a more consumer-centric manner so that people do not face problems.

Connection will be available in rural areas for just Rs 5

The biggest special thing about this campaign is that in rural areas, domestic electricity connection will be provided on demand for only Rs 5. This will provide great relief to those poor and needy families whose homes have not yet been supplied with electricity.

Instructions have been given to the officials that before the start of the campaign, a survey should be conducted from village to village and solutions should be prepared in advance for those who are facing electricity problems. With this, people will not have to make repeated trips to the camps.

Problems in camps will be solved immediately

Many problems of consumers will be solved on the spot in the camps organized during ‘Sampark Abhiyaan 2026’. These include-

electricity bill complaints
name change
weight gain
e-KYC
replacement of faulty meter
smart meter complaint
voltage problem
Complaint about transformer failure

Defaulting consumers will also get benefits

The solution plan 2025-26 was also discussed in the meeting. Officials were instructed to provide the benefits of the scheme to as many defaulting consumers as possible before May 15. With this, people will be able to deposit their old bills with easy installments and relief. The company believes that this will increase electricity bill collection and also reduce the financial burden on consumers.

Focus also on transformer and security system

Managing Director Rishi Garg gave instructions for timely repair of 33/11 KV substations. Also asked to increase the capacity of overloaded transformers and regularly check fire safety equipment.

Strictness has also been shown regarding the safety of line workers. Officials have been instructed to ensure mandatory use of safety equipment by all employees. Apart from this, a special campaign will also be launched to stop electricity theft.
