Aam Aadmi Pary chief Arvind Kejriwal on Friday inaugurated a night polyclinic in Goa’s Velim.
The clinic, launched by AAP MLA Cruz Silva, will operate from 7 pm to 7 am and is the third “Aamche Arogya Polyclinic” opened in the constituency.
Kejriwal said the facility was aimed at helping residents access medical care during late-night emergencies and after working hours.
“This unique Night Clinic will remain open from 7 PM to 7 AM, so that people returning late from work can receive timely and quality healthcare services. Along with this, it will also ensure immediate basic treatment during late-night emergencies,” he said.
Addressing party workers and residents, the AAP supremo further attacked the ruling BJP government in the state over power cuts and the installation of smart meters, claiming the move was being imposed despite public opposition.
"People of Goa are against installation of smart meters, yet BJP Govt remains adamant about imposing them," he said.
During the event, Kejriwal promised free electricity, health insurance and monthly financial assistance for women if the party comes to power in the state in the 2027 Assembly polls.
He announced that if voted to power, an AAP government in Goa would provide 300 units of free electricity every month, Rs 10 lakh health insurance coverage for every family and Rs 1,000 monthly assistance for women above 18 years of age. He said similar schemes were already being implemented in Punjab.
The AAP leader also praised the party’s two MLAs in Goa, Cruz Silva and Venzy Viegas, for remaining with the party despite “pressure and offers” from rivals.
Meanwhile, AAP Goa in-charge Atishi said the state’s politics had long been associated with defections and money power, and accused rival parties of neglecting public welfare.
Referring to Congress defections in the state, she said AAP’s MLAs had “not betrayed the trust of voters”.
