Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team is currently in the race for the playoffs in IPL 2026, but it has suffered a huge blow before the last league match. Angkrish Raghuvanshi, the team's highest run-scoring young batsman, has been ruled out of the rest of the season due to injury. Angkrish Raghuvanshi had to face injury during the last match. However, Kolkata Knight Riders have not announced his replacement.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi was injured during the match played against Mumbai Indians at Eden Gardens on 20 May. Angkrish got injured in the finger of his left hand while trying to catch Varun Chakraborty's ball by taking a long jump. Besides, he also suffered a head injury, due to which he started having pain in his neck. Tejashwi Singh Dahiya was immediately brought on the field as a concussion substitute, who took over the responsibility of batting along with wicketkeeping.
Kolkata Knight Riders have now given an update on Angkrish Raghuvanshi's injury by sharing a post on social media. He told that the finger of Angkrish Raghuvanshi's left hand has been fractured. Kolkata Knight Riders wrote, 'Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been ruled out of the 2026 Indian Premier League after suffering a concussion and fracturing a finger on his left hand while trying to take a catch during Kolkata Knight Riders' match against Mumbai Indians on May 20.'
IPL 2026 was very memorable for Angkrish Raghuvanshi. He scored 422 runs in 13 matches at an average of 42.20, which included 5 half-centuries. He is the highest run-scorer of KKR this season. In such a situation, Angkrish Raghuvanshi's exclusion is a big loss for the team.
